Masmaps - a smart map service for networks, field operations, and environmental monitoring
Masmaps is a browser- and mobile-based map service developed by Masinotek that displays all networks, measurement points, and geospatial data in a single, clear view. The service includes extensive ready-made map datasets (topographic maps, elevation models, groundwater areas, property boundaries, etc.) and offers the option to import the customer’s own network, measurement, and geospatial data.
The map service and its associated network information system can be acquired as a standalone service or as an add-on to Masinotek’s AHJO and EMMI systems. Both systems enable the viewing of asset and measurement point locations, as well as the visualization of water and district heating networks based on the client’s own data.
Choose Masmaps
Customizing the Masmaps map view
Users have powerful tools at their disposal to customize the map view. You can freely toggle layers on and off and adjust their transparency across four levels. Adjusting layer transparency allows you to combine data from two or more map layers—for instance, viewing road and place names from the base map or terrain contours from an elevation model alongside aerial imagery.
Applications
Create added value for maintenance and environmental monitoring
Masmaps is more than just a map; it is a map-based situational awareness system that integrates geospatial data, measurement data, and maintenance or environmental monitoring processes. Alarms can be set to trigger when measurements exceed specific thresholds. The color of an asset on the map indicates the alarm status using a green-orange-red scale. For instance, in surface water monitoring, the alarm function can be used to track regional flood conditions or monitor the status of water bodies based on laboratory analyses.
Customer map data and maintenance
The Masmaps map service supports the import of a customer’s own map layers, such as water, wastewater, district heating, or natural gas networks. Data imported into the service can be updated later by adding new network components from individual files. Decommissioned pipes can also be removed from the main dataset or moved to a separate layer, allowing obsolete infrastructure to be located and tracked as a distinct layer.
